John Chiang visits Fremont

14 Sep

California State Controller John Chiang visited Fremont for a meet and greet.  Meet and greet is usually code word for “I want to run for another office soon.”  The word on the street is that Chiang wants to run for California State Treasurer and switch jobs with Treasurer Bill Lockyer.  Bill Lockyer is looking at the Controller seat to continue his legacy as a career politician.

Chiang greeted local politicians and community folks at a gathering at the restaurant previously known as Uncle Chong’s.  Chiang also was a part of other local festivies with Asian American organizations.

It was a good event. He heaped tons and tons of praise on John Dutra during his speech and scanned the guest list names for unclaimed property.
