Gas bags on council

2 Apr

I read an interesting article in The San Jose Mercury. The fundamental question asked was, “Who was the most talkative council member?” The SJ Mercury scientifically analyzed the council meetings and found that the following councilmembers were the biggest gas bags (most to least):
1. Ash kalra
2. Sam Liccardo
3. Pete Constant

That lead me to ask…who is the gas bag on Fremont’s city council? Vote in this poll:

Oh, this is a sticky and nonproductive issue. Start discussing personal characteristics and styles and you are going to get into the morass or gender and ethnic stereotypes. It’s hard enough getting competant honest people to serve on our council without snipey pointless criticism. If you think somebody is too verbose, send that person a private message.

I don’t care how noisy people are at the meetings as long as they result in a safe and friendly city where the schools are good, the kids are happy, the potholes are filled, and my property values continue to rise.

Funny! It looks like this poll has become a popularity contest rather than accurate reflection of the truth. Hands down Anu Natarajan is the biggest gas bag in the history of Fremont. She loves to talk and talk without any point. The second biggest gas bag is Gus Morrison who loves to tell his old timer stories and anecdotes . The third is Sue Chan who is the reporter and she loves to repeat everything that’s already been said.

Poppie’s right. Dont focus on the style points and personality unless you want to place yourself in the same cesspool that our friend Charlie has made a home for himself in.

To their credit, this council has some contributions they can point to and which are noteworthy.

But, there is also a lengthy and very well documented record of major misses that no one (least of all the members of this council) want you to think or talk about. Very interestingly, whenever any of these issues surfaces, the sock puppets pivot and redirect to the personalities of their detractors and never (NEVER) address the issue(s) at hand .
